Digital Transformation for a Traditional Business
Kays Garage is a well-respected car repair garage and MOT centre in Anniesland, Glasgow. They are a three-generation family business, with roots going back as far as 1936. In an industry often associated with low levels of consumer satisfaction and trust, strong customer service and fairness are cornerstones of Kays' operations. The regard in which they are held has enabled them to expand their workforce, services, and premises.
Kays Garage came to 8th Row Digital wanting to redevelop their website to stand out from the local competition. They also wanted to put in place proactive digital marketing that would drive (pun intended) new customers their way.
Kays Garage already had a website, but it had nothing to differentiate it from any other garage in the area. Furthermore, the website hadn't been updated since 2012 - so it looked and felt very old-fashioned. It was in serious need of development, not only to communicate key USPs of the business but also to make it more attractive and credible to new customers. Web traffic was negligible, and use of the on-site form for bookings was rare.
We designed a site with an entirely new feel and a colourful, almost playful aesthetic, giving it a unique style that sets it apart from the competition. By moving away from generic stock photos of mechanics working on vehicles (you know the ones), we were able to make the site much more appealing. We designed the site with user experience in mind, making it simple to navigate and interact with. This was an extremely important consideration since the main purpose of this site was to attract more custom.
With the new look and new booking processes in place, our next goal for Kays was to develop a highly effective Google Ads campaign. This was designed to increase awareness, and ultimately to bring more bookings to Kays.
Through working with 8th Row Digital, Kays now have:
- a fresh, unique, and easily navigable site
- a much stronger online presence
- an effective digital marketing campaign
They benefit from:
- a 100% increase in monthly turnover
- an increase from five or fewer site bookings a month to five a day or more
- a new, unique, attractive website design
- a website that has become a significant driver of business growth
